Rachel's on a Roll!

And we're not stopping her anytime soon

by Carmen Bridgewater, November 30, 2018

You may remember Rachel from her last creation of the limited edition HDC Pumpkins that were launched this Fall. She is back with another design called the HDC Signature Bell Ornament! When she first introduced these ornaments to the other small goods craftspeople, she actually started with many ornament ideas and designs. The same day she was taught how to use the lathe is the day she made her first turned creation. She was able to master a skill, that can take some time to learn, in a day.

With one 2X2, 20" long post of ash, she turned a snowman equipped with a cute wide-brimmed top hat, a Christmas tree, and 2 types of bells. That's right folks. She's a certified badass. She eventually chose to only offer one of the bells because she wanted to be able to make enough to carry this season. Because these bells are handmade in small batches, right here at Harp Design Co., they are a limited edition item and once they are sold out, she won't be turning more.

Rachel designed, turned, sanded, cut, inspected, and added a screw hook and ribbon to each of these bells. It is truly a labor of love. A labor-intensive labor of love that is! Scroll down to purchase!

What do the bosses think?

"When Kelly and I started Harp Design Co, we dreamed of one day being surrounded by a team of other craftspeople all working together to make beautiful furniture and home goods. Now, that dream is a reality. Way to go, Rachel!"

Clint Harp, Owner of Harp Design Co.

"I am honestly so impressed with how quickly Rachel picks up on difficult skills so quickly. She is a true talent and we are so, so happy to have her on our team."

Kelly Harp, Owner of Harp Design Co.
