Harp Around Town Three Waco Businesses with Custom HDC Work From Magnolia Market to Cameron Park to the Waco Mammoth National Monument, there is no shortage of fun things to see and do in Waco—our store being one of them. But even once you’ve visited us at our storefront, there is still a lot more Harp Design Co. to discover in Waco! Several other small businesses here have HDC projects inside, so here is your guide to all things Harp around Waco. Milo All Day Back when they opened the restaurant in 2018, Milo asked HDC to build several pieces. We made them two 8-foot tables with tripod bases, several small round tables for the waiting area, a credenza, and a wooden bathroom sink! (We think you’ll definitely want to grab a mirror selfie with that sink in their gorgeous bathroom.) Milo is one of our favorite restaurants in Waco, and not just because of all those commissioned pieces! They serve up all kinds of locally sourced food, making many of their dishes from scratch. A few of our favorites are their buttermilk biscuits, Brussels sprouts, and truffle fries. Whether you go for brunch or lunch or dinner, we are sure that you’ll leave feeling full. Balcones Right across the street from Milo is Balcones, a local whiskey distillery founded in 2008. We built them bar tops back in 2016. We also built the bench that you’ll see right when you walk in the doors. You can stop by Balcones for tastings, cocktails, and beer. Their wide variety of world-class whiskies includes their classics as well as annual and special releases. They also offer tours of the distillery, which you can book on their website. Waco Tours Lastly, as tourism in Waco has grown over the last several years, Waco Tours has become a staple. We built countertops and a Melissa Coffee Table for the Waco Tours office. All of it is in antique pine, and if you happen to love the coffee table as much as we do, you can order one of your very own! Offering classic van tours and boat tours on the Brazos River, Waco Tours is one of the best ways to see the city that we are lucky enough to call home. They will take you to all the hidden gems around town, and you’ll also learn a lot of Waco history! Serving other businesses through commissioned work is so meaningful to us. Businesses like these three—and so many others—are the heartbeat of Waco, and it is an honor to know that people gather in our city around tables and bar tops that we’ve built. We’ve called Waco home from the start, and it is one of our greatest joys to watch this community grow and thrive. Our mission has always been to build things to bring you together, and it makes us especially happy to bring you together in our hometown of Waco.
